Destanni Henderson Dad 

Destanni Henderson Dad: Destanni Henderson Dad is Derrick Henderson. Destanni Mone Henderson is a Southeastern Conference college basketball player for the South Carolina Gamecocks. She won three straight state titles while playing for Fort Myers Senior High School in her hometown of Fort Myers, Florida.  

Henderson was a McDonald’s All-American as well as a five-star recruit and the number one-point guard in the 2018 class, according to ESPN. She made the First Team All-SEC as a senior after becoming a full-time starter in her junior season at South Carolina, where she helped lead the Gamecocks to the Final Four. Henderson is a member of the United States national team and earned gold in the FIBA AmeriCup in 2021. 

Henderson was born in Fort Myers, Florida, on February 2, 1999, to Joyel James and Derrick Henderson. She initially picked up a basketball when she was four years old, but she didn’t start playing really until she was eleven years old. Henderson learned to play against boys and male relatives as a child, and later at the YMCA. Since fifth grade, she has been a member of Florida Future, a Fort Myers-based Amateur Athletic Union team. Henderson was a member of the Fort Myers Senior High School football team. She was named to the Class 7A All-State Second Team in her rookie season. 

Henderson was nominated to the US team for the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women, which will be held in Spain. In a 79–62 triumph over Brazil in the Round of 16 on June 27, 2016, she had 15 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Henderson led her team to a bronze medal by averaging 7.1 points, five assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game in seven games. She will compete for the senior national team at the FIBA AmeriCup in Puerto Rico in 2021. Henderson won a gold medal with an average of 5.5 points and 3.7 assists per game. 

Destanni was born in Fort Myers, Florida, on February 2, 1999. Derrick Henderson and Joyel James are the names of her father and mother, respectively. The name of her sibling is unknown. Her height is 5’7′′ and she is unknown in weight. Destanni Henderson has reached the age of 23. Henderson got the moniker “Boss” from her mother, whose grandfather referred to her as “Boss Hog,” a character from The Dukes of Hazzard.  

When she first joined the Florida Future as a fifth-grader, her coach, Jamie Outten, gave her the nickname “Lil Boss,” which was later modified to “Boss” as she grew older. Henderson is a University of South Carolina criminology and criminal justice major. During her first three years at South Carolina, she was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll five times.
